Sleek, discreet and lightweight—the Sport Defender is OC protection you can take anywhere. Inert “Test” spray Inserts are also available for practice, or for safely function testing your Defender. The D2 size Defender contains approximately twelve half-second bursts, with a five foot range (may vary with conditions).

Safe, inert training and practice spray cartridge for your ASP Defender. Unlike common throwaway aerosol can defense products, ASP Defenders are highly-engineered dispersion devices that use a proprietary, replaceable OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) Insert. These Inserts are precision-machined from aerospace aluminum and solid brass, and incorporate a specially-produced valve system and patented dispensing mechanism. The entire unit is O-ring sealed. contains approximately twelve half-second bursts, with a five foot range (may vary with conditions).

One of the benefits of this component-based system is that it facilitates safe training, using our Test Inserts, which contain a harmless, inert aerosol. We highly recommend using them and practicing with your ASP Defender before carrying it with the active D2 Insert installed.

The Clear Insert Training Aid is for use in situations when inert spray isn’t being used (for example, when doing Defender presentation or other physical skill repetitions). It is an empty canister that acts as a spacer inside the Defender housing, keeping the actuator button in place and providing tactile resistance to approximate the feeling of spraying actual contents.
